Athens, Greece, March 2026
The FashionKIC (Knowledge Innovation Community for Sustainable Fashion) project successfully held its 1st Consortium Meeting in Athens, hosted by Envolve Entrepreneurship. The meeting brought together key partners from across Europe to align on the project’s progress, strategic priorities, and next steps.
Over two days of collaboration, consortium members reviewed all work packages, coordinated upcoming activities, and made important decisions that will guide the next phases of the project. The meeting marked a significant milestone in strengthening cross-border cooperation and ensuring a shared vision among partners.
FashionKIC is a European initiative aiming to accelerate the sustainable and digital transformation of the fashion and textile sector by fostering innovation, building skills, and connecting key stakeholders across the ecosystem. By bringing together industry, academia, public authorities, and innovation actors, the project seeks to address key challenges such as fragmentation, skills gaps, and the transition to circular business models.
The consortium includes leading organizations from across Europe: Envolve Entrepreneurship (Greece), INFOLYSIS (Greece), the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia (Greece), ModaLisboa (Portugal), Reginnova NE (Romania), Elisava (Spain), and Global Fashion Agenda (Denmark).
Through its activities, FashionKIC will establish a transnational innovation ecosystem, support fashion SMEs and start-ups, and develop new knowledge and tools to drive sustainability and competitiveness in the sector.
The Athens meeting set the groundwork for the implementation of key project actions, including the development of an AI-powered platform, the activation of regional innovation nodes, and the rollout of training and acceleration programmes.
