Funded by the Interreg MED programme, this project has brought together 6 partners from 5 European countries to experiment with the transfer of non-technological innovation models in the textile and clothing sector to Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and France. Building upon the groundwork laid by the previous CreativeWear project, which ran from 2016 to 2019, the CreativeWear Plus project has aimed to revitalize the sector through innovative approaches.

As a leader in the project, the Textile Museum has played a significant role in transferring a model of valorization of textile heritage to the Alentejo region in Portugal. This model serves as a source of inspiration for the contemporary revival of local artisanal weaving, fostering creative residencies and collaborations with young local designers.

During the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to explore an exhibition showcasing the final works created as part of the project. From exquisite panels crafted from local Portuguese wool to prototypes of collaborations between companies, artists, fashion and design schools, and local communities, the exhibition highlights the innovative spirit of the project. Additionally, clothing prototypes made by upcycling textile waste will be on display, showcasing sustainable practices in the industry.

A dedicated session of the conference will delve into how the CreativeWear project and its experiments have paved the way for the development of new projects in various European programmes, including Creative Europe, Horizon 2020, and ENI CBC MED.

Join for a morning of insights, inspiration, and innovation as we celebrate the achievements of the European CreativeWear Plus project and look ahead to the future of the textile and clothing industry.
